Who told you you couldn't sing? Cuz if it was you I wanna argue with you. If it's someone else I wanna argue with them or the ghost of whatever awful thing they said that lives in your head now.
Do you mean that when you sing it doesn't sound like what you think it should sound like? First of all, who's standard and why cuz who knows what coolness you're cheating yourself out of by holding yourself to some arbitrary standard. Second, technical stuff is just physics and muscle training - if you have the capacity to blow up a balloon and make squeaky fart noises, you can sing.
Do you mean that it doesn't feel good when you sing? Ok, some thing, physics and muscle training, with a side of what unique physical challenges might you be working with, and/or, more often than not, what permissions do you need to self soothe. Because I swear that's half my job is just being an external voice that says you absolutely deserve to be both seen and heard.
But you wanna know the secret of what makes a "natural" singer?
Hint, it's not a golden set of vocal cords because as in other things it's not the size of the boat it's the motion of the ocean.
The secret of the "natural" singer is someone who feels ok giving themselves permission to play with their voice in a constant game of seeking what feels best.
It might be hard at first, but I swear, honey, you can sing.
